Training, consultation and resources are available to healthcare providers to assist them in implementing evidence-based treatment of tobacco use and dependence, ranging from brief interventions to intensive counseling. Focus is on providing resources to assist healthcare systems in developing onsite expertise and capacity for in-service training of staff. Resources are available to educate a variety of clinicians working in many different venues, including medical treatment providers (physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, etc.) and behavioral health treatment providers (drug counselors, mental health professionals, employee assistance counselors, etc.) APTNA services are free of charge for qualifying healthcare providers.
